The Gotek drive is preflashed and ready to use with FlashFloppy firmware.

Our Simulant Amstrad NC200 gotek kit provides a complete swap solution to remove the existing Amstrad NC200 internal floppy drive and instead use USB flash with floppy disk images. This way you can save your data safely, transfer between Amstrad NC200 and PC easily - as well as store games, applications and BASIC programs on your usb drive to load up directly on NC200. You can even boot your own custom floppy images to override the default operating system such as running Fuzix or custom written programs.

Also useful for using with a memory card to transfer files on and off USB stick and with ZCN CP/M operating system too!

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. This is quite easy to swap and fit in the Amstrad NC200 but great care must be taken when taking your computer apart and putting it back together. We cannot be held responsible for any damage to the Gotek floppy emulator OR your Amstrad NC200. Use at your own risk.

2. When opening up your Amstrad NC200 it is easy to break or snap the casing and wires. As long as you proceed with care and don't rush or force anything open too severely everything can be opened up without any issues (see photos for fitment).

3. The kit fits very tightly and uses almost all available space in the Amstrad NC200, do not force or press the casing back together - use care and double check all wires are back in place correctly and nothing is trapped or sticking out. No returns or warranty is given due to the kit being made for use with old hardware and due to DIY fitting.

4. A test disk image file for your USB stick is available after purchase and can be downloaded from your shop account Downloads section, this is to get you started. Just extract the zip file to the root of your FAT formatted USB stick. We also offer advice and help with any issues - please email if you need any help.

5. The Amstrad NC200 computer pictured and the USB stick are NOT included in this sale and simply illustrate how the Gotek kit fits and works once installed.

Brainium DreamWriter 500 & Tandy NTS200

In the USA the Amstrad NC200 was sold as the Brainium DreamWriter - we're unsure what firmware or OS this derivative runs, but the above Gotek kit may possibly be compatible if infact it is just the same computer rebranded... The same is also true of the Tandy NTS200... So if any Brainium 500 or Tandy NTS200 users are happy to test and confirm this please email and let us know!  :)
